Kiyo Plum is a premium Japanese plum variety originally developed in Japan and highly regarded for its exceptional fruit quality. In 2021, Kiyo gained international attention by setting a Guinness World Record for producing one of the heaviest plums ever recorded, highlighting its remarkable size and superior quality.
The fruit is large with deep red skin and juicy, sweet amber flesh, offering rich flavor and excellent texture for fresh eating. Kiyo is considered a high-value variety due to its impressive fruit size and outstanding eating quality.
Kiyo requires cross-pollination for reliable fruit set. It should be planted with another Japanese-type plum such as Shiro, Beauty, Santa Rosa, or similar varieties for best production.
